Remembering Marvin Foulkes

It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of Marvin Foulkes, one of BSEC’s outstanding board members. Marvin passed away on March 8, 2022 at the University of Alberta hospital after a short illness. A Celebration of Life will be held at our school in July.  The family has asked that anyone who wishes to donate in his memory can send e-transfers to donations@bsec.ab.ca.  A online tribute to his life can be found here.

Why BSEC?

Our model starts with the student’s needs and builds a plan for engagement around their interests and goals for themselves. Our teaching staff understands how to start where the students are and know when extra supports are needed to remove barriers to learning. Our cross-functional student services staff help students navigate around barriers and inform teachers how to best serve each student’s unique learning needs.
